The Art of Batik Solo

Solo is a bustling city located in the province of Central Java. As a city that is still included in the Surakarta Residency, Solo is still very closely related to Javanese culture. “The Spirit of Java” is a slogan owned by this city which shows a deep rooted determination to preserve Javanese culture.

Solo batik motif has its own meaning, another meaning motive. Solo batik motifs are created in a variety of ways, hoping to bring goodness to the wearer. The solo batik motifs that are known are, among others, solo batik motifs of machete, barong solo batik motifs, kawung solo batik motifs and sawat type solo batik motifs.

This batik motif is considered sacred and is only used by the king and his family.
